Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I hope that all of you are in a great condition. I would like to share some updates from my amazing second year at Texas Tech University.

It hit me around a month ago that I had just finished my second year at Texas Tech University. I am halfway through college and very blessed to keep my GPA at 4.0.

My second year was a very interesting year with so many learning experiences, thanks to the Rawls Business Ambassador. I am very fortunate to be a member in a group of thirty bright people. My job in the ambassador included giving tours to donors, alumni, and prospective students, having breakfast and dinner with guest speakers, and helping the college to prepare some events.

During winter break, I also had a chance to visit my friend Mike, whom I met in Japan three years ago, in New York. It fascinates me how the fast paced the city is, all the Christmas decoration at the Times Square, and the Wall Street area. I also get to take off one of my to-do-list by seeing the Lady Liberty.

My experience during year two are not all happy. In the middle of spring semester, Sampoerna Foundation, the foundation who support me, told me that I have a chance to transfer to Cornell, an opportunity that I could not reject. Some of you might have known that I really wanted to go to Cornell. At that time it felt like the timing was perfect for me. I did all my best to finish the application, and I felt that I would be in Cornell during the fall semester. However, Cornell sent me the second rejection letter (My application was also rejected after high school).

I know that I am in the right place at Texas Tech University because as soon as I told my advisor that I was not accepted to Cornell, I was awarded to be part of the Rawls Business Leadership Program (RBLP). This is a very prestigious program because they only select top thirty upper-classmen. This program provides scholarship to its members, connects each member with a professional mentor, also supports international trip to Brazil and Argentina for cultural and business experience. I am very honored to be part of this amazing opportunity.

Currently, I am back to my home country, Indonesia and having an internship with Bank SahabatSampoerna on its Finance and Accounting department. I learned a lot during my first three weeks of my internship, and looking forward to learn more and more.

Second year at Texas Tech has been amazing for me and I believe that you also have a great year already. I would love to hear back from you.

I am honored to cross my paths with you, I am sure I would not be in the same journey if we had not crossed our paths.

I hope you have a great summer and please keep in touch.

Sincere regards,
